Ella's Trendy Foxy Eyeliner Tutorial

If you have been anywhere on Tik Tok or Instagram, you have definitely seem the Fox Eyeliner trend. This look extends and lifts the eyes on the outer edge with a wing on both the outer and inner corner of the eye. With a bit of practice, anyone can do it!

Start with a clean base. Make sure that your eyelids do not have any makeup or oil residue, as this can cause patchiness.

Apply an eye base. This creates a clean, even base for application. Eye primer is customary, but concealer set with powder works well. But, beware of using concealer if your eyelids are oily like mine!

First take your eyeliner and draw a line going outwards. Angle it so it is an extension of your lower lashline.

step 3.jpg

Draw a line from the tip of the wing inwards. Do this for about 1/3 the length of your eye. The key here, as opposed to traditional eyeliner, is to make this line as horizontal as possible. This extends the eye outwards and upwards, creating a fox eye style.

Fill it in!

Draw a short line starting from the inner corner of your eye. Make it about 1/3 of the unlined lashline space.

Tip: If you have an inner corner fold like I do, I highly suggest looking downwards to do the following step. It creates a larger space for you to fit the tip of your eyeliner.

Draw a short line towards your tear duct, starting from the inner part of the previous line. Draw a small line from the inner tip of this new line back outwards towards your pupil. This should create an inner wing that looks like a mini triangle. This extends the eye inwards, adding to the fox-like look.

Add some gel liner on the inner and outer thirds of the eyes. This adds to the almond shape you are giving to the eye. Then, if you would like, add a pair of lashes! Place the lash in the middle of the eye along your lashline, then push down the inner then outer corner. Add mascara to blend your natural lashes to the false lashes.

Take your eyeliner and draw a line on top of the lashline to cover the lash band. This is subtle but makes a big difference.

Add some lower lashline mascara, and you are all done! Super cute :)

Additional tip: If you are going out at night and want to spice it up, take a small tipped brush and smoke out the inner and outer gel eyeliner. This gives a sexy sultry effect ;)
